The Black Bull is a food-focused publican’s dream! Located in the cosy village of Midgley, the pub is only a 20-minute drive from both Wakefield and Huddersfield. Demographics of the area are affluent, with locals consisting predominately of mature professionals and families who enjoy a comfortable lifestyle. Tourists are also drawn to the area - the popular National Coal Mining Museum of England and Yorkshire Sculpture Park are each only a five minute drive from the pub. 

 

Our £440,000 investment will cover both internal and external areas of the pub, including the commercial kitchen. We will create a stylish and welcoming modern British pub that can accommodate over 150 covers internally and 80 covers externally. The interior will maintain its rustic charm but have modern, on trend touches such as stylish leather armchairs, booths, timber flooring and tasteful decorative features.

Outside, we will enhance both the existing patio space and timber structure, along with replacing the roof tiles. The space will be extended to create a gazebo style area to the side of the building. We will also repave the space to create an appealing, on trend al fresco dining space. Festoon lighting and stylish furniture will enhance this further. New external signage will be designed for the pub, along with a refresh of the car park

 

The Black Bull would suit an innovative food menu that prides itself on locally sourced ingredients delivered by a passionate chef. Combine this menu with premium drinks such as cask ales and authentic cocktails to appeal to both locals and out of towners alike. A strong social media presence will be key to success.

 

Private accommodation at the pub includes three bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. In line with our Ready To Trade Promise, we will ensure that the private accommodation at the pub also has the necessary works completed on it before the pub is leased.
