The Anglers, which is situated on the Thames next to Teddington Lock, has existed since the mid-18th century and was acquired by Fuller’s in 2010. It was a popular pub among local fisherman, which inspired its name. The Anglers is one of Fullers busiest pubs, especially during the summertime when the garden and outdoor bar – which accommodates 300 people – is humming with activity.
But having been around for about 160 years, the beloved pub requires tender loving care from time to time, and is currently undergoing an exciting refurbishment The works will include replacing the conservatory, new bathrooms, and a complete makeover for the function room, kitchen, garden and bar areas.
Our new dining area will have better views of the Thames, as will our new Function room and upstairs bar. Our gardens will get some much-needed TLC with improved bike parking, family activities and al fresco dining options. Our team of professional chefs will have a brand new shiny kitchen to create outstanding, sustainably sourced modern dishes from scratch.

Could you be the key to real team spirit?
We are looking for a Deputy Manager who is a confident and capable leader, who will relish the responsibility of running the pub. As you will be in the heart of the action in both motivating and supporting the bar team as well as creating a special atmosphere for customers, you will be a great communicator and have strong decision-making and organisation skills.
The great thing about Fuller’s is that we hire on the basis of potential, more than on previous experience, as it’s the personalities in our pubs that make the difference. You’ll need to take ownership of problems, and you’ll live by a mantra of ‘always doing the right thing’ – even if it occasionally means bending the rules.
You will be working alongside the General Manager to ensure the success of the pub and simultaneously learn the skills behind running a business. With Fuller’s support, this puts you on the road to progressing your career further into a General Manager role.
