About Local Pubs

The site has 3 levels a ground floor bar, and first floor bar and function room, and a second floor function room. There's an opportunity to drive core sales through more consistent everday use of the 1st floor bar which is often used for meetings and training session prividing quite a low level of income for the space available.

The site has sky sports and also hosts regular Mason's dinners.

The site was recently invested in and is in great condition. Delivering our guests outstanding service and maintaining exceptional standards are the main priorities, as well as maximising the opportunities of extending the core trading area by opperating more consistent trading times of the first floor bar to our walk in guests.

There are still opportunities to maximise sales through Tour Groups and Private bookings, but these need to be justified in terms of sales revenue against the potential loss in sales from walk in guests who are unable to find a table in the ground floor bar.

This business trades as a high street business in the Local Pubs division. The Local Pubs division is part of the Greene King Retail Division - our largest and fastest growing business. With approximately 500 sites across the UK our Local Pubs division operates a range of unique community and high-street pubs which attract a variety of customers and offer something for everyone.

High Street

'High Street' pubs are generally chameleon businesses offering an environment which changes and adapts throughout the day - from morning coffees through to evening cocktails. The High Street pubs are defined by a lively, buzzing atmosphere, an upbeat and energetic tone, and fast-paced, efficient service.
The focus is on a quality food and drink offers with a strong emphasis on excellent presentation.
Customers range from lunch-time shoppers and local workers through to evening-circuit-drinkers all looking for a great atmosphere, excellent entertainment or a fun night out!

Role & Responsibilities

As a General Manager you will have overall responsibility for all aspects of the successful management of the business.

With the desire to excel, succeed and win, ideally you will have a clear understanding of high-street / late-night operations and how to drive sales and grow profit in this highly competitive environment. You will be energetic and focused, and able to adapt to the demands of both the food and entertainment elements of the business. With fantastic people skills you will have the ability to lead, motivate and develop your team and engage your customers. Upbeat, efficient customer service, high quality products and exceptional presentational standards are key, so you will need to be genuinely passionate about hospitality and customer service.
