My client is an English Sparkling wine company and they are very well established in the UK.

You will act as a team leader within their winery and hold responsibility for the implementation and efficient execution of the winery work plan


What is it?

  • Plan and implement daily and weekly work schedules to support production expectations set out by Winemaker
  • Lead and participate in all aspects of daily winery operations
  • Train, motivate and supervise cellar staff
  • Constantly strive for improvements in quality, efficiency, cost and professionalism
  • Manage and maintain Winery ‘Job Monitoring’ hours database including making inputs where necessary for temporary staff
  • operate the bottling, labelling and disgorging lines when required
  • Monitor and track inventories of production consumables (packaging, corks etc) and ensure stocks are re-ordered in a timely fashion
  • To participate in wine production activities including racking, blending and filtration
  • Responsible for writing protocols, training documents and reports
  • Provide quarterly reports of POS inventory & returned stock reports
  • Extras hours and complete flexibility over working days is required at crucial times of the year, especially Harvest.
  • work in collaboration with all members of the winery team to ensure smooth operation of the winery and a positive work environment.
  • To ensure that all winery staff (including temporary workers) act at all times to maintain a safe, clean, neat and tidy work environment.
  • To contribute towards keeping the winery Standard Operating Protocols and Risk Assessments up to date and accurate. 
  • To undertake any prescribed training as required.

Who Are You?

  • Strong knowledge of procedures and excellent leadership skills
  • Exceptional time management skills and able to work to tight deadlines
  • FMCG Wine, spirits or soft drinks experience in a similar role necessary
  • Not afraid to muck-in and get your hands dirty and go the extra mile
  • Personable, adaptable and experience supervising large teams in a warehouse environment
