Chef for Rugby/Sports Club, General Catering and Corporate Events
Contracted hours: to be two full days at the weekend and two four hour evening shifts.
£13,000 per annum, overtime and bonus payments.
Flexibility is essential for this great opportunity. As, outside of the above hours, there will be overtime payments for additional catering events including weddings, funerals, social functions and business meetings.
We are a National League Rugby Club that has recently spent over a £million pounds upgrading our facilities, including a state of the art kitchen. We now require an experienced, dedicated Chef to join our team.
Your main focus will be to run the kitchen, using a number of part-time staff, so you must be able to work in a high-pressure environment. You will also be responsible for maintaining our high level of food safety & hygiene, as well as managing stock control, portion sizes and quality. You will need to demonstrate flexibility re timings of certain functions.
During the rugby season you will provide midweek training meals for the players, Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Saturday and Sunday you and the catering team will provide c.50 pre-game & snacking food including breakfast and c.100 meals post-match.
You will also work with the Hospitality and Events Manager on menu design and meet potential corporate and private customers.
The ideal candidate will be a confident Chef who holds either - NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation, and/or City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, and/or a Hospitality Degree. You will demonstrate a passion for food and the commercial acumen to ensure that costs are controlled.
