The Company

My client is one of the UK’s leading spirit distributers with a portfolio of great brands, focussing on premium spirits and they like to do things a little differently to other drinks companies.

With a mission is to offer the right brands to the right customers. They look at an opportunity first and then the brand, ensuring successful long term listings that drive volume.

The company has grown rapidly since its inception and are now looking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Key Account Manager to help build their business across On-trade


You are a people person, very confident, adaptable & resilient with great ideas and the ability to influence on all levels. You will not only live & breathe the brands but you will also have a creative mindset to generate creative ideas to push the business forward, across events, Trade shows and any other opportunities.

You will have a broad knowledge of UK on-trade and strong commercial experience ideally with a premium Spirits background. Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of brand building with the ability to balance commercial delivery.

You have Strong influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels. Experience of activating brands in the on-trade is essential.

You will have strong relationship management skills, having worked in a similar position within the drinks industry (preferably premium spirits) and you will be highly organised at developing and retaining a successful territory. You are creative with an entrepreneurial spirit & passion to build & develop the on-Trade Business You will have existing contacts with restaurants, bars & nightclubs within central London and have proven success within your CV.

Showing resilience, a positive mindset and determination you are highly-driven and eager to prove yourself. You have great relationships with bartenders and bar managers, having started in that background previously to really build relationships and get the high-end spirits on the cocktail menu’s

Financially aware, you have a Strong understanding of balance between commercial delivery and brand building agenda, with Strong IT skills to use data to interpret insights. With Strong presentation skills and experience at delivering training / presentations.

Ultimately you are completely passionate about the drinks industry and show knowledge and enthusiasm for spirits, having kept up to date with new launches, trade shows and events as this is not a brand ambassador position, you must meet KPI’s and targets and really be tenacious and driven.

The Role

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this is a field based position, covering Central London. You will be responsible for the account management of a portfolio of regional key account groups. Management of free trade accounts with outlet focus based on the business brand segmentation model. You will implement activation programmes in key outlets within Central London, recruiting consumers whilst improving distribution and visibility.

The role of the KAM is to maintain and promote the culture of the company whilst Working autonomously to manage a core number of accounts within Central London, delivering the on-trade brand building plan and activation programme. Deal with activation, perfect serve, sampling, tailored competitions, menu presence & permanent unique brand visibility. You will also generate new business through strong relationship building.

You will maximise both brand visibility and sales volumes in your area, obtaining new back-bar, cocktail and speed rail listings. Delivering brand training modules to educate bar professionals and utilise Brand Managers and or Sales Managers to supplement this as appropriate. Develop and implement promotional in outlet / specific events to support development and drive ROS of company brands.

You will Prospect and open new accounts to meet sales targets; develop a pipeline of potential and sustainable new customers in your area to grow the account base. participate in evening and weekend promotions / events / trade shows, whilst also creating innovative ideas for events to grow the brand.

You will produce an effective call cycle, ensuring total area coverage and achieve agreed number of calls per day. Recording info in the CRM system.

You will Produce monthly reports, liaise internally and externally, negotiate and secure key accounts.  Manage budgets to deliver KPI targets e.g. pouring accounts, menu presence, listings, activation, incentives
