We’re a passionate supporter of the Great British Pub and since 2012 have invested more than £100m in our pubs to broaden their appeal, which we combine with flexible leases and market leading support.  We seek the best and most innovative licensees and work together to create successful pubs at the heart of their communities.

And there’s more of that to come! We’ve recently added 1,900 pubs to our Star Pubs & Bars estate making us the third biggest pub company in the UK.  We’ve now created a number of new roles to ensure we’ve got the infrastructure in place to accommodate this significant change and ensure there’s plenty of support in place for all our Lessees and Operators.

So let’s get straight to it. With so many new pubs and bars in our portfolio, we have remodelled our regional alignments and have a few additional Business Development Manager roles to fill across the UK - We're now looking for a BDM in the lovely region of Northern Scotland.

What is the main focus of this role?

To coach and inspire our licensees through attracting, developing and retaining the best operators in the industry. To connect with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, building open and collaborative commercial relationships. To have the commercial understanding to put the right agreements in place from a flexible range of agreement types.

Overall this role is about collaborating with your operators and working with your virtual HEINEKEN UK team to create a great retail experience in our STAR Pubs & Bars for the consumer on every visit.

To achieve this you’ll create a unique Business Plan for each Pub in your remit, encompassing recruitment of new lessees, delivering Capex along with Brand/Marketing Plans. With a deep understanding of the hospitality industry already, you’ll be able to draw from an arsenal of resources to help design, innovate and implement the best retail solution for each of the pubs in your remit.

 Reporting to a Regional Operations Director, you’ll be involved in helping grow every aspect of the Lessees and also our JAT businesses, from negotiations around both the overall deal and the best agreement for the tenant, to also advising on driving the turnover and controlling operating costs. You’ll need to be commercially astute and highly numerate.

Your depth of industry experience will add value but you’ll also have the support of our talented colleagues across the business to draw upon so, it goes without saying that you enjoy interacting with others at all levels and working cross functionally. 

Experience in our Leased and Tenanted environment would be advantageous but we are also open to hearing from successful people managers with all the other skill sets required above, who are as passionate as we are about building an outstanding STAR Pubs & Bars business. To check out more about our STAR Pubs & Bars business go to; and follow us on LinkedIn.

Salary: £40k - £50k+ base depending on experience
