King Henry’s Taverns is a group of six successful pubs in The Midlands known for its quality and choice of food together with excellent customer service. Famous for steaks such as our 24oz ‘King Henry VIII’ and 48oz ‘Titanic’, we offer our customers the opportunity to enjoy great food coupled with exceptional value!
We are looking for a dynamic couple to run one of our largest Taverns – The Honey Bee, a spacious pub with lots of eating areas and a sofa area where customers can relax after their meal. This stunning pub overlooks magnificent gardens sloping down to fishing lakes. The Honey Bee is situated in Doverdale Lane, Doverdale, Near Droitwich.
The Honey Bee has a turnover of £1.5m/annum, of which food is in excess of £1m/annum. The annual salary is in excess of £50k/annum including a guaranteed bonus plus an additional bonus based on actual last year’s figures.

Whether for a relaxing drink or a delicious meal, a warm welcome awaits our customers at all of our King Henry’s Taverns. As General Managers, we rely on you to ensure that each of our customers enjoys a fantastic experience, whether they are visiting simply to sample a glass or two from our specially selected wine range, or attempting to sink our 48oz ‘Titanic’ steak. At King Henry’s Taverns, every customer is King!
King Henry’s Taverns is all about giving that little bit extra throughout the customers journey with us and, as General Managers, you’ll be the driver! It’s not just our customers who come in big happy families. Our team are one big happy family too. So it will be your job, to make sure our families stay happy on both sides of the till!
What you’ll do in this role
At King Henry’s Taverns, we look for that little bit extra from our General Managers, and we give that little bit extra back! As we are such a close knit company, you will be highly valued and involved in every aspect of running your business. You will not only be managing, but training and moulding your team to ensure that our food, service and standards are always of the highest quality. As a company, we want to make sure that you enjoy working as part of our team. After all, if you do not enjoy the experience, neither will our customers.
As General Managers, you will be:
Seeking out lots of new guests by marketing your business locally. Recruiting, training and leading a large team, ensuring that morale is always on a high. Constantly ensuring that our customers get the best possible impression of King Henry’s Taverns. Always looking for opportunities to grow the business, increasing sales and controlling costs.
What will make you perfect for the job?
General Manager level experience in a busy, high volume environment. A passion for delivering great service with a personal touch and attention to detail to ensure that every single customer leaves, wanting to return. The strong leadership style, personality and charisma to motivate a committed and hard-working team. The motivation and confidence to promote and market your business in the local area. The Initiative, creativity and ability to try new things and think outside the box in how you attract new customers. The ability to demonstrate an in depth knowledge and understanding of sales, gross profits and staff percentages. Controlling the business on an hour by hour basis in order to ensure that KPI’s are met.
Please be aware that this position will require you to hold a current Personal License for the sale of alcohol as issued under the Licensing Act 2003 and you will be required to hold a full driving licence with continued and unlimited access to a vehicle.
