A great opportunity has arisen to be the new General Manager at the Duke of York in Tunbridge Wells.

Located on the historical Pantiles, one of the town’s most popular and prettiest shopping and leisure areas, the pub is ideally situated to take advantage of the constant passing trade which is attracted to the numerous independent boutiques and bars and the local events that take place all year round, including farmers markets and a really popular summer jazz festival. The town itself is steeped in history and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful English countryside and only a 50 minute train journey in to central London.

The Duke of York offers a great selection of pub classics, bolstered by some great small plates and sharers which caters perfectly for the lunch and evening crowds. Guests are welcomed in an attractive, cosy bar which occupies the entire ground floor. Upstairs, the pub boasts a lovely dining room which is utilised during the peak sessions to offer a slightly more formal dining experience but is also a really popular and versatile private hire area. When the rain stays away, customers can choose to soak up the atmosphere of the Pantiles by sitting outside on the paved area to the front of the pub.

This lovely business occupies a prime location and benefits from a good level of passing trade. There is scope to take advantage of its position with a robust calendar of events and proactive marketing, ensuring that Tunbridge Wells residents know what is going on in the pub. There is plenty of competition in the surrounding area so making sure that standards of service are on point will be critical to building on its local reputation.
