A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a new General Manager to lead one of the most iconic Pub restaurants in the New Forest

The Oak Inn is a quintessentially British country pub famed for its fresh, locally sourced food and excellent range of real ales. Customers visit the pub after a day’s walking or horse riding through the forest and the pub is renowned for taking great care of customers and their pets alike.

Lyndhurst is known as the capital of the New Forest and as such is the starting point for many tourists hoping to discover its natural beauty. The Oak is located in the picturesque hamlet of Bank and is situated just outside the main town itself. It benefits from a lovely traditional exterior leading in to a small but perfectly formed bar and a cosy 52 cover dining space which was refurbished internally in March. Our beautiful 100 cover al fresco dining area provides a lovely setting for an almost continental dining experience, whilst roaring log fires create a warm and welcoming atmosphere when the weather outside takes a turn for the worse.

Key to success at the Oak Inn will be making the most of the pubs enviable rural location, ensuring that all customers leave already planning a return visit and making the pub a go to destination for customers who want to drink great ales and wines as well as dine on fantastic fresh food in stunning surroundings.  There are plenty of opportunities to drive sales through building strong relationships with both the local community and businesses based in the New Forest. In addition there is scope to develop the business further with a calendar of events that will help attract customers through the winter months.

The ideal candidate will be a real foodie who preferably has experience in operating a seasonal business and works closely with the kitchen team to ensure the customer proposition is one which always encourages repeat visits. Excellent marketing skills are absolutely essential due to the rural nature of the business

Turnover in the last 12 months was just short of £1 million with a 70-30% sales mix in favour of food. There is an excellent team already in place looking for new leadership. The managers accommodation is a one bedroom two floor house separate from the Pub.
