We are looking for a new General Manager to lead the team at the picture perfect Hind’s Head in Aldermaston!

Located in the stunning Berkshire countryside, between Newbury, Reading and Basingstoke, the lovely village of Aldermaston is quintessentially English with a real community feel and the ideal base to explore the surrounding countryside. The pub itself is a beautifully restored 15th century coaching inn and is steeped in history. Located on the main road through the village, the eye catching frontage draws in passing trade and in addition the pub is a popular meeting place for local residents. Inside, the pub oozes charm with flag stone flooring, exposed beams, open fires and décor that celebrates the pubs past and creates a warm and welcoming environment. A pretty garden and terrace offers the perfect resting spot to enjoy a cold beer after a day’s exploring. Food at the Hind’s Head is all about pub classics done brilliantly, supported by a selection of interesting and exciting dishes. A superb selection of ales, wines and spirts compliment the menu perfectly. 15 ‘Beautiful Bedrooms’ offer stunning accommodation in beautiful surroundings and drive trade throughout the year attracting both leisure and corporate business. 2 private hire areas make the pub the perfect location for both intimate social occasions and larger corporate meetings where guests can take advantage of the 50” TV and audio equipment.

The next General Manager of the Hinds Head will be an energetic and motivated leader who is able to recruit, motivate and retain a talented team who deliver faultless service every time. There is real opportunity to further drive trade through effective marketing of the private hire facilities and bedrooms. The beautiful bedrooms require a General Manager with impeccable standards and an eye for detail. Integrating with the local community and surrounding business will be an important factor in the continued success of the business.

This is a live in position (separate 1 bedroom apartment) and is perfect for an existing General Manager who is looking for a new challenge which offers exposure to bedrooms and has real growth opportunity.

As our General Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the success of the pub.

  • You’ll be great at leading a team
  • You should be highly motivated and commercially focused
  • You’ll need to be a great communicator
  • You should have previous management experience
