For any General Manager, Fuller’s is a special company to work for. You’ll get lots of help and support from Head Office when you need it, but also plenty of encouragement to put your own spin on the pub.
You can take plenty of pride in the role too, knowing that Fuller’s ales, food and service has a reputation as some of the very best in the business.
You’ll need to be commercially minded, making the right decisions to keep customers pouring through the doors. Importantly though, you’ll be a people-person too - mindful that to many, you’re still a good old-fashioned ‘Landlord’.
And of course, you’ll have a team to look after. So we’re looking for somebody with true leadership qualities – able to keep both the customers and the team smiling.

One the most beautiful pubs in the New Forest, the iconic White Buck is on the hunt for a General Manager to take the helm!
Set in the beautiful New Forest National Park, the White Buck is a charming country house set among three acres of unspoilt woodland. Restored to its original glory, it’s a wonderfully relaxing place for guests to eat, dine and stay whist they take advantage of the pubs enviable location to explore the beauty of the New Forest. The pub offers 20 sumptuous boutique bedrooms which feature a mix of contemporary and antique-style décor, the perfect way for guests to relax after a day in the surrounding country side. Customers can choose to have a drink in the cosy bar or ‘Gun Room’, whilst admiring the views of the grounds before moving through in to the restaurant to enjoy the White Bucks offer of delicious fresh food.
We are looking for a General Manager who is passionate about delivering a flawless experience to the guests at the White Buck. You will need to love and embrace the New Forest and be able to maintain and build upon the great reputation the pub currently has both as a beautiful place to stay and a great place to meet friends and family. Close attention to detail is imperative to ensure that guests are wowed throughout their experience and you will need to be a great host. Passion and experience for serving great, fresh food is critical as the White Buck is proud to offer one of the finest menus in the New Forest using the best local Hampshire produce. The pub has a reputation as a fantastic place to host family dinners and special celebrations and can accommodate parties of up to 140 in the main dining rooms or for more intimate celebrations, customers can take advantage of the private dining room. Due to the enviable location of the White Buck, the business is very seasonal and the General Manager will need to ensure that the business adapts quickly to the changes in trade to ensure that each customer enjoys a fantastic experience. Experience in managing a pub with rooms would be advantageous alongside an ability to manage volume during the summer.
A 1 bedroom managers flat is available or live out would be considered.

The White Buck Inn is a manor house hotel set in idyllic New Forest countryside. There are 16 boutique bedrooms, a dining room - and a steady stream of tourist visitors throughout the summer. Service style here is relaxed but professional.
