As our General Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the success of the pub.

Following a very successful 18 months, Ollie is embarking on a new challenge elsewhere with Fuller’s and so the beautiful Star Tavern in Belgravia is looking for a new General Manager to lead its continuing success. Situated on a lovely mews in one of London’s most sought after neighbourhoods, the pub was made famous in the 1960’s by its extensive list of showbiz and criminal cliental and is steeped in history.

The Star Tavern has real ale running through its veins, holding extremely popular beer festivals each year and is one of only five pubs in the UK to have featured in the all 46 editions of The Good Beer Guide. On the bar customers will find a wide range of real ales and can be sure that each pint will be served at its very best.

Food at the Star Tavern is traditional pub fair with interesting and modern twists. Food sales are in growth and have the potential to continue to grow further following a recent refresh of kitchen equipment. The pub is a very popular spot for local workers to pop in for lunch and in the evening the pub glows with a real open fire and an atmosphere to remember.

Inside customers can choose to sit in the bar downstairs or upstairs in The Library which offers one of the most comfortable and unique atmospheres in the area.  The Library can also be utilised as a private hire space and is hugely popular with local embassies and residents in Knightsbridge.

The General Manager of the Star Tavern will be passionate about building connections with local businesses and will need to put themselves at the heart of the community in one of the most exclusive areas in London. A passion for real ale and exceptional cellar management is essential. Promoting the pub as ‘the’ place in Belgravia for private hire and special occasions will be key to growing the business further.

This is a live in position with lovely, spacious accommodation

Ultimately, the smiles on faces, the return visits and the positive reviews are all down to you - making this one of the most rewarding jobs in the hospitality business.

  • Run a great pub, backed by the famous Fuller’s brewery
  • Enjoy the freedom to make the pub your own
  • Adopt a fantastic, friendly team
  • Benefit from a competitive salary and great discounts including 20% in all Fuller's pubs and heavily discounted stays in our hotels.
  • Benefit from industry leading training and development.
  • We will reward you every time you introduce a friend to the Fuller’s family who successfully passes their probation.

For any General Manager, Fuller’s is a special company to work for. You’ll get lots of help and support from Head Office when you need it, but also plenty of encouragement to put your own spin on the pub.

You can take plenty of pride in the role too, knowing that Fuller’s ales, food and service has a reputation as some of the very best in the business.

You’ll need to be commercially minded, making the right decisions to keep customers pouring through the doors. Importantly though, you’ll be a people-person too - mindful that to many, you’re still a good old-fashioned ‘Landlord’.

And of course, you’ll have a team to look after. So we’re looking for somebody with true leadership qualities – able to keep both the customers and the team smiling.

  • You’ll be great at leading a team
  • You should be highly motivated and commercially focused
  • You’ll need to be a great communicator
  • You should have previous management experience

Please understand that we will need proof of your right to work in the UK.
